This 50 year anniversary is not just a reflection on where it all began, but a celebration of how far disc golf has come, and where it is headed. The PDGA also turns 50 this year. The sport is continuing to grow all over the world.

Throughout 2026, a series of events, celebrations, and commemorations will take place across the country to honour this golden anniversary. These will recognise not only the history of flying disc sports including disc golf in Australia, but also the people who have contributed to its growth, from pioneers of the 1970’s to today’s dedicated players and volunteers.
